Aniello Iannone is a Lecturer in International Relations and International Political Economy at President University, Indonesia. His research lies at the intersection of comparative politics, international political economy, and critical approaches to labour, migration, and regional order, with a particular focus on Indonesia and Southeast Asia. His work examines transformations of political and economic power, oligarchic structures, labour regimes, ASEAN regionalism, and the changing relationship between domestic political orders and regional governance.

He holds a PhD in Social Sciences and International Relations from Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, where his doctoral research in International Political Economy examined Indonesia–Taiwan relations and the transnational structures underpinning migrant labour exploitation. His broader research also engages with questions of structural power, dependency, regionalism, and the political economy of Southeast Asia.

Iannone is a Vasey Fellow at Pacific Forum and a Research Fellow and Vice Coordinator of the Asia Desk at Geopolitica.info. His academic work has focused extensively on Indonesian politics, ASEAN regionalism, Southeast Asian international relations, and the political economy of labour and migration.
