Angtyasti Jiwasiddi

I am an interdisciplinary scholar of technology and society with over 19 years of experience, whose research examines how technology, social media, digital work, and AI reshape communities. My work focuses on digital work, digital nomadism and remote work as sites of inquiry, interrogating their social impacts, the regulatory gaps they reveal, and their unintended consequences for local communities.
Through fieldwork in Bali and Chiang Mai and an ABDC A* publication in Information Systems Journal, I have developed a research program that connects socio-technical systems to questions of governance, ethical approach, and structural asymmetry.
Beyond academic publication, I am engaged in public scholarship, contributing to The Conversation, Tempo, and Kompas, and serving as a subject matter expert on educational media platforms. I am particularly motivated by social issues and the ways technology amplifies or mitigates inequality. My work bridges academia, policy, and industry audiences, aligning closely with the Institute for Culture and Society’s commitment to engaged research, public debate, and global impact.
