Angie Bone is an Associate Professor of Practice in Planetary Health at Monash Sustainable Development Institute. She leads the Environment and Health strategic theme, focusing on health system transformation for resilience and sustainability, and the links with the built and natural environments.

Angie is a public health physician, with extensive public health leadership and research experience regarding environmental influences on health and health equity. She is a former Deputy Chief Health Officer specialising in environmental hazards to health at the Department of Health in Victoria, and Head of Extreme Events and Health Protection at Public Health England (now the UK Health Security Agency). She has also worked as a front-line public health doctor and epidemiologist in several low, middle and high income countries in Europe and Africa with various organisations, including the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Angie is a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and its UK equivalent. She has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, presented at numerous forums nationally and internationally on climate change, sustainability and health, and serves on a number of expert and translation advisory groups in relation to the environmental determinants of population health.
