Even we were surprised at the levels of mental ill-health years after being released into the community.
Public health measures like lockdowns, quarantine and mandatory masks are important for managing the pandemic. But they can take a unique toll on refugees’ mental health, as our new research shows.
We found refugees with insecure visas had poorer mental health than refugees with secure visas. But social interaction with the wider community seems to help.
