Angela Baeza Pena

Dr Angela Baeza Peña is Diaguita First Nation from the north of Chile. Dr Baeza is a Research Fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures at The University of Queensland. She is a Math teacher and has a Master in Education from Monash University and a Master in Learning Disabilities from UC.
Her doctoral research centred on relationships among Indigenous communities, schools, and support systems, and her ongoing work continues to be guided by community knowledge and lived experiences.
She has received multiple awards recognising her leadership in Indigenous education, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Contribution Award from the Australian Teacher Education Association in 2025. Her publications include several books and journal articles in English and Spanish.
