Dr. Andy Nguyen is a distinguished research leader specializing in the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of critical infrastructure. His expertise involves developing and deploying advanced, full-scale SHM systems that provide real-time insights into structural integrity. Notably, he has successfully implemented sophisticated monitoring solutions for diverse assets, including a major high-rise building in Brisbane and numerous bridges across Queensland and New South Wales. A testament to his technical prowess, Dr. Nguyen's systems possess the capability to accurately detect even distant earthquake events, demonstrating his profound ability to safeguard complex civil engineering assets through cutting-edge technology and data analytics. He is an Advanced Queensland Fellow (2024-2027) undertaking an important 3-year SHM research project funded by the Queensland Government.
