Andrew is is a computational biologist working at the Francis Crick Institute, using machine learning to deal with big biological data, from electronic health records to genomics. He trained as a physicist, with a PhD researching magnetism and superconductivity at Oxford University. He is also an award-winning science communicator, on TV, live and online, in formats from documentary to stand-up comedy. He campaigns on science policy and funding as Chair of Science is Vital and creator of Scienceogram.
