- Associate Professor of Anthropology, McMaster University
I received my BA and MA in anthropology from the University of British Columbia, and my PhD in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley. I have worked in the Bolivian highlands for 15 years, conducting archaeological research principally focused on the Tiwanaku civilization and its precursors. I am currently working on several projects, including the Challapata Project, a project investigating Late Formative Period (200 BC-400 AD) villages in the Eastern Lake Titicaca Basin. I am also directing an ethnoarchaeological project with highland Bolivian contemporary potters. I have published in a number of academic journals, and have recently co-edited two recent books: In 2016, "Knowledge in Motion: Making Communities and Constellations of Practice across Time and Place" (with Ann B. Stahl, University of Victoria), and in 2018, "Constructions of Time and History in the Pre-Columbian Andes" (with Ed Swenson, University of Toronto).
