Andrew is a 3rd year PhD student at the ANU in Canberra, Australia. He is a member of both the J-lab (Michael Jennions) and the Kokkonuts (Hanna Kokko). He completed a Bachelor of Science (advanced; 1st class honours) at the ANU in 2010.
His research focuses on asking: how do environmental factors interact with sexual selection to shape the behaviour and life-history traits of the animals around us?
Currently he is working on answering:
- How do the social and physical environments interact to affect sexual selection and sexual harassment in Gambusia holbrooki?
- Why did synchronous male signalling evolve in the fiddler crab, Uca mjoebergi?
- Whats the optimal pattern of sex allocation when offspring die during parental care?
