I study food caching behaviour in North American red squirrels as part of the Kluane Red Squirrel Project based in Yukon, Canada. I completed my HBSc ('10) in biology, followed by my MSc ('14) studying mouse genetics, both at Western University. Recently, I taught evolution at the University of Saskatchewan as a sessional lecturer. Before starting my PhD I worked as the Wildlife Education & Outreach Coordinator and a clinic volunteer for Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre near London, Ont., where I grew up watching Eastern grey squirrels and Eastern chipmunks in my backyard. I currently serve on the advisory committee for the Canadian Society for Ecology & Evolution's Section for Long-Term Research.
