- Research Fellow, Institute for Economics and Peace, University of Sydney
I'm currently a research fellow at the Institute for Economics and Peace. Prior to joining the Institute, I was senior research fellow at the Electoral Integrity Project, a joint initiative of Harvard and Sydney University, with a specialization in political finance related matters. In 2016, my book "Checkbook Elections? Political Finance in Comparative Perspective" co-edited with Professor Pippa Norris, was published by Oxford University Press.
I completed my PhD at Stanford University in Political Science in 2011, after which I held a lectureship in the Ford Dorsey Program in International Policy Studies at Stanford University, where I taught the graduate introductory statistics sequence and a graduate seminar on civil society, protest and revolution
An election integrity expert, I consult for governments, international organizations and non-profits, in the field of democratization and good governance, with a passion for the African continent.
An engineer by origin, with both Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in Aerospace/Mechatronic Engineering, I am a strong advocate of quantitative evidence based decision and policy making (but not at the exclusion of qualitative evidence!).
