- Senior research associate, University of Bristol
I am a vertebrate palaeontologist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I received my BA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, MS from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and PhD from the University of Bristol. Most of my research has focused on assessing skull mechanics and feeding behaviours in the carnivorous theropod dinosaurs, particularly tyrannosauroids. I am also interested in different ways of capturing 3D data in fossils and various computational methods we can use to study the fossil record. As a postdoctoral researcher based in Bristol, I have lately been working on the life histories of extinct non-mammalian cynodonts by analysing their dental tissues via synchrotron radiation-based X-ray tomography. I also co-supervise graduate students in the Bristol Palaeobiology MSc programme, which has allowed me to work on other fossil organisms including ichthyosaurs and extinct kangaroos.
