Amy is a Registered Nurse and Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at The University of Queensland, and recipient of Children's Hospital Foundation Early Career Fellowships (2018-2020, 2021-2022). She completed her PhD in Health at the Queensland University of Technology in 2011, for which she received the Executive Dean's Commendation for Higher Degree Research. Amy's research examines relationships between parents' beliefs and behaviours and child outcomes. Her current research projects fall across the areas of parenting children with chronic health conditions, the development of healthy habits in early childhood, and the impact of the transition to parenthood and early parenting experiences on infant and child health and wellbeing. She is passionate about supporting parents to improve health outcomes for their children. She lives in Brisbane with her husband and two young children.
