Amanda Mason-Jones is a global public health specialist and injury epidemiologist currently based at the University of York. Her research focuses on sexual and reproductive health, violence and injury prevention. She has been specifically working in the areas of intimate partner violence prevention and reproductive health issues for young people and interventions for improving mothers' and children's wellbeing through intervening in the early years.
She is a trained nurse and health visitor with a PhD in injury epidemiology and masters' degree in public health (MPH), health services research (MSc) and creative writing (MA). She has held academic posts at the University of Nottingham and the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch in South Africa. She has also worked as a community development worker, health professional and public health specialist in the UK and in South Africa.
