Amanda Kowalczyk is an evolutionary genomics researcher who studies a broad range of traits relevant to human health, such as adaptations in skin, hair, vision, and lifespan. Her research primarily focuses on implementing and using computational methods to analyze evolution-based data. In doing so, she connects basic science research in evolution to clinically relevant outcomes. Amanda earned her PhD in computational biology in 2021 through the CPCB PhD program jointly hosted by the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.
