As a bioarchaeologist, I sit at the intersection of evolutionary biology and archaeology. My research primarily focuses on the biological and cultural history of domesticated species. In particular, I am interested in the evolution of the relationship between human societies and domesticated plants and animals. Using morphometric tools (traditional and geometric morphometrics), I study the impact of humans on domestic species and analyse large quantities of archaeological remains (teeth, bones and seeds). I lead the DEMETER project, which was funded by the ERC and aimed to understand changes in agrobiodiversity of animals and plants (pigs, sheep, goats and barley) influenced by environmental and socio-economic factors in the northwestern Mediterranean basin since the beginning of agriculture in the region over the last 8,000 years.
