I am the head of the Southern California Seismic Network and Earthquake Data Center in the Seismological Laboratory at Caltech. I previously worked as a professor in Mexico at UNAM. I was the manager of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty seismic stations while I was at UNAM. I work on plate tectonics, crustal structure, earthquake statistics, and new technologies.
