Alison Hess

On graduating in 2012 with a PhD that examined the early history of BBC Radio I joined the Science Museum as an Assistant Curator. I then worked for nearly eight years in the Science Museum Group Research and Public History team, developing approaches to museum-led research and collections-based research.

In 2021 I joined the SMG One Collection Team and led the research strategy for the newly established Science and Innovation Park near Swindon.

In 2022 I joined the University of Westminster as a Lecturer in Museum and Gallery Studies. I continue to research the history and contemporary practice of museums.
