Alison Deslandes

I am PhD candidate at the Robinson Research Institute at the University of Adelaide as part of the IMAGENDO project. my PhD research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence as a self-learning tool for sonographers learning to perform transvaginal ultrasound. I completed a Master by Research at the University of South Australia in 2022 focusing on diagnosis of endometriosis with transvaginal ultrasound.

I am also a well-established clinical sonographer, specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. My key interests are in scanning for endometriosis, 3D/4D ultrasound and the psychosocial aspects of obstetric ultrasound.

I am the Immediate Past-President of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and has served on the ASUM board of Directors for the past 6 years. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences and a peer reviewer for multiple journals. In 2022 I was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian Sonographers Association.
