- Professor in Human Geography, Sustainable Consumption Institute, University of Manchester
I am an environmental geographer who is working on issues of water, energy and food consumption in the UK, Europe, Australia, and China. I am interested in the ways that we can understand, and influence, transitions towards sustainable resource consumption in the Global North and South. This involves exploring peoples' mundane everyday lives (e.g., showering, gardening), moments of disruption and experimentation (e.g., attending music festivals), and thinking about different ways diverse stakeholders can create opportunities for deep social and infrastructural change that will enhance both social and environmental sustainability.
