Alireza (Ali) Merikhi is a Research Scientist in the Earth and Climate Sciences division at the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. He earned his undergraduate degree from Bu-Ali Sina University, a master’s degree from Iran University of Science and Technology, and a Ph.D. in Oceanography from Florida State University. Since 2014, his research has focused on marine biogeochemistry and environmental science. His interdisciplinary work centers on the development and application of novel technologies to study aquatic biogeochemical processes in both field and laboratory settings. His research spans a wide range of environments, from tropical ecosystems to polar regions, providing insights into aquatic biogeochemical processes across diverse climatic conditions.
