Dr O'Connor is a Postdoctoral Researcher on the CoastMan project (https://www.coastmanafrica.org/) exploring the governance dynamics impacting mangrove systems and coastal communities in Ghana and Tanzania.

CoastMan aims to:
-Co-develop dynamic maps of drivers and risks of mangrove habitat loss
-Support locally-led social-ecological and climate resilience through coordinated management of
mangrove resources
-Co-design a multi-criteria framework for mangrove restoration and conservation
-Co-develop a Decision Support System (DSS) for mangrove socio-ecological systems

She is passionate about work that explores the integration of livelihoods and biodiversity conservation. Her research focuses on the social dimensions of conservation through topics such as community-based conservation, local perceptions and values, landscape governance and policy, and integrated landscape approaches.
