Alice joined the Work Foundation at Lancaster University as Head of Research in 2023. She has over a decade of experience researching the UK labour market with a particular focus on insecure work, worker voice and employer conduct.
Alice is a member of the advisory board for the Autonomy Institute and part of Lancaster University's Work and Health Forum, and the Knowledge and Action Hub on Modern Slavery, Justice, and Complex Supply Chains.
She previously worked as a specialist advisor on employment rights in corporate governance, and led the New Economics Foundation's research programme on work and pay, where she authored publications on working time, the gig economy, trade unions, and economic inequality. Alice was a founding trustee of educational charity Rethinking Economics.
