I hold a PhD in Language Sciences from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and Aix-Marseille University, France. My research area is in Psycholinguistics and focuses on (second) language processing in comprehension and production of language. I compare the performance of native and non-native speakers of various languages, mainly Spanish, French, English, Catalan and German. I also investigate how listening to foreign speech affects native speakers.
I am particularly interested in syntactic, semantic and pragmatic processing in second language but my research also addresses the relation between language and other cognitive processes such as emotion processing and decision making.
My work is based on experimental research using different methodologies, mainly event-related potentials (ERPs), eye-tracking and behavioural tasks.
