As the 2025 recipient of the Canadian Geophysical Union Early Career Award, I am focused on understanding how water moves through landscapes and how it carries nutrients, pollutants, and other substances that influence both ecosystems and communities. My research looks at how rainfall, snowmelt, forests, farms, and human activity shape the quantity and quality of water in rivers and underground aquifers.

I lead projects in Canada and around the world that bring together scientists from diverse fields—geochemistry, ecology, agriculture, and forestry—as well as water agencies and environmental organizations. By combining these perspectives, we are building better tools to assess water security and guide smarter decisions about land use, development, and climate adaptation. At the heart of this work is a commitment to generating practical, science-based solutions that protect water as a vital resource—for people, for nature, and for the future.
