Alexis is a composer, educator and PhD candidate at the University of Sydney.

Alexis completed her undergraduate studies in music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, graduating in 2017 with First Class Honours. She then completed a Master of Music at the Conservatorium in 2020, principally supervised by Dr Benjamin Carey. Alexis continued as a casual Lecturer and tutor, coordinating multiple undergraduate Units and tutoring courses across the Faculties of Music, Architecture and Design, and Museum and Heritage Studies. Alexis was employed as a continuing Associate Lecture in Music Technology in 2024.

Alexis has worked with the Nanosonic Stories team at the University of Sydney Nano Institute since 2020. The team continues to develop the concept of the Sonaphor, a podcast-like learning tool for science classrooms. In 2023 she commenced a PhD pursuing this research under the supervision of Professor Alice Motion, Dr Chiara O'Reilly and Dr Jade O'Regan.

Alexis is also active within the podcasting community, having composed themes and sound design elements for companies such as ARN, Amplify, Sunny Studios and Shameless Media. She continues to compose experimental electronic works and advocate for accessibility and inclusivity within musicology, composition and music technology spaces. In 2023 she was selected for La Biennale di Venezia's College Musica cohort, and in the same year performed commissioned works at the Sydney Opera House and SxSW Sydney, exploring how Generative AI can enhance the works of individual experimental composers.
