Alexios Arvanitis

Alexios Arvanitis, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Crete. His academic formation combines a B.A. and M.B.A. in Business Administration (Athens University of Economics and Business), and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Panteion University), with a dissertation on motivation in negotiation and social exchange. Dr. Arvanitis investigates broad domains of social psychology—social influence, intergroup relations, and motivation—while focusing on moral psychology, negotiation, essentialism, social exchange theory, and self-determination theory. He also pursues interdisciplinary applications in organizational contexts and public policy, integrating empirical research with theoretical and meta-theoretical perspectives.
