Alexandra Thomson

Dr Alex Thomson is the Industry Engagement Manager for the Climate Change Cluster (C3) research institute at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where she leads the engagement of research in creating climate solutions for the planet, from the planet. She is also a UTS Deep Sector Engagement lead for Climate.

With a background spanning marine science, research translation, and industry engagement, Alex works at the interface of science and market to connect researchers, industry partners, and government stakeholders, unlocking scalable, impact-driven solutions.

Her leadership focuses on building strategic collaborations, shaping investment-ready innovation pipelines, and positioning microalgae as a critical platform for decarbonisation, circular economy outcomes, and sustainable production systems in Australia and beyond.
