Alexandra has a PhD in Criminology/Law, a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology First Class Honours), and a Bachelor of Justice and Society from Flinders University.
Alexandra's research explores human trafficking in Australia with a focus on women offenders, the victim-offender cycle, sex trafficking, and sexual exploitation. A large focus of her research is on women victims of human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation who have been charged as the offender and how this victimisation is acknowledged, understood, and constructed by Australian judges.
Alexandra has been consulted as an expert, and her researched used, by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
