- PhD Candidate, Royal Holloway, University of London
Alexandra Aldridge is a first year PhD candidate at Royal Holloway, University of London, researching sex, drugs and sexual consent. Her work focuses specifically on the contexts in which intoxicated sexual activity takes place, exploring the roles of space, the body, and how these interact with broader structural factors to shape consent practices. She recently completed her MPhil in criminological research at the University of Cambridge. She has worked with the Global Drugs Survey (GDS) team to devise questions for GDS 2018 on sex, drugs and sexual assault. She has also worked as a Research Assistant for the drugs charity Release – an organisation that advocates for evidence-based drug policies based around public health rather than criminal justice.
