Aleta is a Research Consultant with the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS. Aleta's research spans across several fields of sustainability including social sustainability, the built environment, futures studies and natural resource management.
Aleta has a passion for sustainability, and enjoys applying participatory approaches and art to achieve sustainable outcomes. Aleta's research has involved the development of a method in 2011 using art to facilitate sustainable decision-making processes. This method has gained interest in the arts and futures field. Aleta published this work in 2011 in the International Journal of Arts in Society and the Journal of Futures Studies.
Previously Aleta taught Environmental Legislation and Planning at the University of Newcastle in the Faculty of Science and Informational Technology Faculty. She also worked as a volunteer legal research assistant with the Environmental Defenders Office.
Aleta has a Bachelor of Law/Business and a Certificate 4 in Carbon Management. Aleta expects to gain a legal practicing certificate in 2012 and a Masters in Art Therapy.
