I’m passionate about improving the health of people living with chronic conditions. My work focuses on developing, testing, and sharing evidence-based treatments, especially those involving exercise and digital tools. I believe the best solutions come from working closely with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders, so collaboration is at the heart of everything I do.

My research has appeared in top journals like Nature Medicine, JAMA Psychiatry, British Journal of Sports Medicine, and Addiction. One of my most important contributions to science is co-leading the development of the MOBILIZE intervention, a personalized program designed to improve health-related quality of life for people living with multiple chronic conditions. This work was published in Nature Medicine and has received international recognition for its innovative approach to care. It reflects my broader commitment to creating evidence-based treatments that are co-developed and implemented with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.

Earlier in my career, during my PhD, I helped challenge a long-standing belief, that exercise wears down the knee joint in people with osteoarthritis. My research showed that exercise does not seem to harm the knee joint, helping to shift clinical practice and patient attitudes worldwide. These findings have been widely shared, translated into 16 languages, and featured in major media outlets such as The Washington Post and DER Spiegel, highlighting their global relevance and impact.
