Alessandro Antonello

Alessandro Antonello is associate professor in environmental history at the University of Tasmania in Hobart. He is an environmental historian working on questions of international environmental protection, knowledge, policy, and geopolitics in the second half of the twentieth century, currently concentrating on the world ocean and Antarctica. He completed his PhD at the Australian National University in 2014 and has previously held positions at Flinders University, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Oregon. His first book, The Greening of Antarctica: Assembling an International Environment, was published by Oxford University Press in 2019. He has published in leading journals, including Environmental History and Environmental Humanities.
