Dr. Aleem Bharwani is the Founding Director of the UCalgary Pluralism Initiative (Vice-President Research Office, UCalgary) and the Director of Public Policy and Strategic Partnerships (Office of Indigenous, Local and Global Health, Cumming School of Medicine). He is a specialist in internal medicine with graduate training in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

In addition to annually winning teaching awards, he has been recognized for his education and policy leadership by two international societies (American
College of Physicians and Society of General Internal Medicine), by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the UCalgary O’Brien
Institute for Public Health.

Dr. Bharwani remains an active community citizen, serving on a variety of community and corporate boards.
