I'm a geologist studying plate tectonics, meteorite impacts, and the magnetic field of the early Earth. I apply a variety of tools to do so, most prominently paleomagnetism, or the study of magnetic records preserved in rocks. I specialize in studies of rocks that experienced complex histories of metamorphism and chemical alteration, especially by fluids such as seawater.
