Alba Reguant Closa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Navarra (Spain). Recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, she pursued a Master of Science in Sports Nutrition at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and completed her master’s thesis project at the United States Olympic Committee High Performance Center. With a growing interest in sustainability, her PhD, supervised by Dr. Nanna Meyer, focused on integrating sustainability into sports nutrition, specifically examining the environmental impact of athletes’ diets. She subsequently conducted three years of postdoctoral research at the Life Cycle Assessment Research Group at Agroscope (Switzerland), on incorporating health and nutrition dimensions into the environmental impact assessment of foods and diets. With over 15 years of experience as a registered dietitian, she has worked with teams and individual athletes, as well as the general population, helping them achieve their nutrition and health goals. Born in Andorra, in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains, and passionate about nature, she now focuses her efforts on highlighting the connections between health-nutrition and the environmental impacts of food production and consumption, promoting both human and planetary health.
