Alastair joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Sheffield University in September 2008, following 8 years leading research and development in industry.
He graduated with a chemical physics degree and a PhD in spectroscopic measurements of discharge lighting. In industry, Alastair was responsible for researching and designing polymer light emitting device architectures and manufacturing schemes for integration with CMOS microelectronic displays.
