I am a social anthropologist working on politics of intimacy in India, and more recently in China. I am interested in how people form and reshape relationships with both humans and trees in a context of urban ecological change. I arrived at these questions through my previous work with young people in north India, who invent a new type of enjoyment, to navigate their social worlds. My book monograph based on this work is forthcoming with Cambridge University Press.
