Social researcher and urban planner with 5 years’ experience of conducting academic research on urban refugees and urban development in Sub-Saharan Africa, in addition to several years working as both a consultant in the private sector and project officer at local government level. Interests in human settlements design, land management, local environmental planning and management, governance, housing policy and projects, slum upgrading, institutional capacity development, and resource mobilization, development planning in urban slums. Particular interest in the coping mechanisms of vulnerable populations within the slum context, such as displaced populations, either internally or refugee groups.
