- Research Scientist, The University of Texas at Austin
I am a research scientist in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Austin, where I work in experimental atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. My research focuses on high-power laser systems, laser–matter interactions, and precision measurement, with current projects spanning quantum sensing, photonics instrumentation, and ultrafast laser science. I hold a computational allocation on the Lonestar6 supercomputer at the Texas Advanced Computing Center, which I use for large-scale simulation and data analysis in support of my experimental work.
In addition to my academic position, I am the founder of Photonics Dynamics, a consulting and engineering firm specializing in laser system design, optical modeling, and the development of advanced photonics technologies. This work keeps me closely connected to the practical engineering challenges involved in building and operating complex optical systems - from alignment and stabilization to full system integration.
I have a strong interest in communicating the science and engineering behind extreme light technologies, including the global effort to build increasingly powerful laser systems and the real-world challenges of translating theoretical concepts into functioning hardware.
