Afsoon Soudi

Dr. Afsoon Soudi is an Assistant Professor at RTA School of Media at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds multiple patents, federal and provincial fundings and published numerous peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals. Her expertise spans across Responsible and applied Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data analytics intersection with the creative disciplines.

Prior to TMU, she led machine intelligence teams to develop an audience analytics platform and recommender systems enabling discoverability and personalization in digital media products. Dr. Soudi is a tech-based entrepreneur. As a co-founder and VP of R&D of an award winning software company (which was later acquired), she led a multidisciplinary team of researchers and developers on technology commercialization and developing ML products for B2B applications.

As an educator, she brings that commitment to her research and teaching through inclusive curriculum and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students developing leaders of the future. As the director of Creative AI Hub fostering an exchange of ideas and promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration.
