Adrienne Nicotra

I am a plant evolutionary ecologist with an interest in the capacity of plants to respond to the environment and environmental change. I am a Professor in the Division of Ecology and Evolution in the Research School of Biology and the director of the Australian Mountain Research Facility.

My work focuses on native species from a wide range of environments, though I am particularly interested in the effect of warming, drying and climate variability on plants of extreme environments: alpine and arid zone species. For example, current research examines the drivers and implications of climate and insect-driven decline of Australian snow gums in the high country and of dieback of arid species at Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park.
