I am currently a full-time Senior Lecturer in Sustainability acting as Director for Learning and Teaching in the Department of Environment and Geography, University of York. Alongside this, I was also appointed Strategic Lead for Sustainability, Department of Architecture and the Built Environment, University of York (2023-2024).

I have a multi-disciplinary academic background with degrees in History, War Studies and Human Geography. As a political geographer and more specifically a political ecologist, my research was initially focused on natural resource governance and conflict and environmental justice. Recently I have moved into pedagogical research in sustainability education encompassing pedagogical practice, operations and content with an aspiration to ensure that all students, at whatever level, leave with the necessary knowledge and skills to embrace and engage with sustainability.

Prior to my current role, I was Lecturer in Human Geography and Planning in the School of Geography and Planning, Cardiff University which was awarded through the University's prestigious Darlithwyr Disglair (Brilliant Lecturer) Scheme. I have also held appointments as an Associate Lecturer in Human Geography and Environment and Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Environment and Geography, University of York and as a Lecturer at the University of East London and University of London.
