Adrian De Leon is a historian, poet, and fiction writer at the University of Southern California. At USC, he is an Assistant Professor of American Studies & Ethnicity, and holds affiliations with the Center for Transpacific Studies and the East Asian Studies Center. He teaches courses on Asian American history, literature, and politics.
Through native and migrant Filipinos in the Philippines and North America, Dr. De Leon's research program investigates the effects of colonial industries in how migrant workers communicate their sense of belonging in ethnic communities. He has also written about urban politics and ethnic entrepreneurship, and local arts and politics in his hometown of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. His books include: Rouge (2018), FEEL WAYS: A Scarborough Anthology (2020), and barangay (forthcoming 2021).
