I am a Researcher at the Swedish South Asian Studies Network at Lund University. I am working on a project that examines the history and sociology of Afghan refugees and asylum-seekers in the United States and Sweden since the Cold War. I am also a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley.
I have a published a monograph with Palgrave Macmillan. Articles have appeared in The Times Literary Supplement, The Conversation, The Independent, Modern Intellectual History, Nidabe: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Middle East Studies, Open Democracy, and History of Political Thought.
I am the Founding President of the UC Berkeley Humanities and Social Sciences Association.
I have taught at San Quentin Prison University Project, Berkeley City College, UC Berkeley, Lund University and Stanford.
I have also been a freelance writer and researcher for American immigration attorneys for over two years.
