I am a geographer whose work focuses on how politics, conflict and economic power shape landscapes and societies. I use satellite data, geographic information systems and statistical modelling to analyze how states, borders, infrastructure and natural resources interact in fragile and contested regions.

Since 1999 I have worked across eight countries on three continents in government, private sector and academic roles, with a focus on how external intervention, environmental stress and institutional weakness reshape regional stability.

I hold a PhD in Physical Geography from Lund University in Sweden, an MSc in Geospatial Technologies from the University of Münster (Germany) and the New University of Lisbon (Portugal), and a BSc in Geoscience from Montclair State University in the United States.
