Dr. Aziz a Lecturer in Communication and Media Studies at the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. His research interests are situated within the intersecting fields of digital media, migration and cultural studies with a special focus on inclusion and social justice. Applying an interdisciplinary theoretical lens, his research engages critical questions about how space/place and (im)mobility/inequalities, as well as the modes of agency, voice and identity, are embedded in the everyday digital media practices among marginalized communities. His doctoral thesis explores the everyday digital media practices of Rohingya in the Cox’s Bazar refugee camps in Bangladesh and in Australia to negotiate identity, inclusion and belonging. He has published in top-quality journals, including New Media & Society, Media Culture & Society, Technology in Society, International Journal of Communication, Contemporary South Asia and among others.
