My current research interests lie in climate and weather data analysis, extreme climate and weather events, flood risk, coastal hazards, data visualisation, geographic data science and earth observation. I am also a machine learning enthusiast.

I obtained a PhD in coastal hazards, Faculty of Sciences, Rabat (Morocco) in 2014. In 2015, I moved to the USA for a Postdoc at the IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering, University of Iowa, where I worked on various projects related to hydroclimatology /hydrometeorology with a focus on extreme climate/weather events. In the summer of 2017, I joined Loughborough University, School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering as a Research Associate in an EPSRC funded project on developing a real-time monitoring and early warning system for urban floods in Colima, Mexico, using a bespoke network of wireless water sensors combined with machine learning.

My background is also interdisciplinary, since, in addition to academia, I have also worked in consultancy and as an administrator in the National Mutual Aid Government department in Morocco, where I was responsible for developing cooperation with associations and NGOs.

Last, I have also worked as a volunteer and founded several associations in the field of research, development, and environment: namely (i) the Association of Young Researchers of the Faculty of Sciences- Rabat; (ii) the Moroccan Association of Geomaticians
