Aarin-Conrad Allen, Ph.D.

(he/him)

Dr. Aarin-Conrad Allen’s previous research has investigated the diet, foraging ecology, and ecological role of West Indian manatees (Trichechus manatus) across Florida and Central America. His work has explored how manatees consume and process a diverse range of aquatic vegetation, as well as the environmental drivers of manatee behavior and habitat use..

His current research examines how manatee feeding behavior may influence nutrient dynamics and ecosystem function across marine, brackish, and freshwater environments. By integrating ecological insights with health and spatial data, Dr. Allen aims to develop actionable conservation strategies and inform evidence-based ecosystem policy.
