Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin is a private Lutheran university located on a 200-acre lakefront campus in Mequon, Wisconsin, about 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. Founded in 1881, Concordia began as a small college in downtown Milwaukee before moving to its current Mequon campus in 1982 and becoming a university in 1989.

Today, Concordia offers more than 70 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs across six academic schools, including business, arts and sciences, education, health professions, nursing and pharmacy. Its programs span fields ranging from engineering, computer science and business to education, health care, the arts and theology. The university also offers online programs serving students beyond its residential campuses.

As part of the Concordia University System of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, the university places Christian faith at the center of its educational mission. Concordia describes its approach as developing students in “mind, body, and spirit,” with an emphasis on preparing graduates for professional careers as well as lives of service and leadership.

Concordia University Wisconsin operates in a strategic relationship with Concordia University Ann Arbor, with the two institutions sharing a president and governing structure while maintaining residential campuses in Wisconsin and Michigan.
